Huntersville, NC

Huntersville covers a wide physical area of just over 31 square miles immediately north of Charlotte.The northwest edge borders Lake Norman. Like all of the Lake Norman communities, Huntersville has seen tremendous growth. In 1990 Huntersville had barely more than 3000 residents. By the 2010 census, that number had increased to 46,773. The population is now estimated at well over 50,000.

Huntersville is home to Birkdale Village, a popular upscale shopping, dining, and entertainment destination. The complex sits right on the edge of Huntersville and Cornelius.  Huntersville has seen development all across its area. The original, quaint downtown area is home to Discovery Place Kids Museum. Near downtown is the Huntersville Aquatic Center which features an outdoor water park, indoor pool, high-diving pool, fitness center, and more.  On the southwest side of Huntersville you will find the historic Latta Plantation with over 700 acres and home to historic 1800 buildings, equestrian facilities, and the Carolina Raptor Center.

The southern-most highway exit for Huntersville, exit 18, is where you'll find Northlake Mall. It is the area's traditional 2-story, 3-anchor major mall with a number of surrounding strip centers, restaurants and other businesses.

Huntersville is not a bedroom community. There are numerous major employers located there. Everything you need including medical services and a major hospital can be found there. The town regularly makes "best places to live" lists. As do the adjoining towns of Cornelius and Davidson.
